Great job, very thorough, with good recommendations. I grew up on the LT (literally used to pass through our property), though despite a career that included about 30 wilderness trips, mostly by canoe, it took Covid to inspire me to End-2-End it in 2020 at the age of 64 (Canada was closed so a canoe trip in the Northwest Territories was canceled). I hate heat (“Sweat” was bestowed on me as a trail name by a hiker impressed with how soaked I was on a 70-degree day), so I planned on mid-September to mid-October. Since the higher mountains up north (I live between Mansfield and Camels Hump) can have significant snow in October, I went SoBo and, indeed, was able to follow the foliage peak most of the way south and only had one night below freezing. The first few days were brutal, but I kept within my limits and built up to long days. By the end, climbs were easy. Once past Camels Hump, I figured I had it made (skipped two days of solid rain at home!). Further south, I climbed Stratton Mountain before I realized it and without breaking 100 for heart rate.
