I plan to do this loop early August. I also plan to do a loop hike in the area of Cook Lake and Titcomb Basin. Thanks again! Jeff "Blazer" Smith

Thanks Steve. We’re totally onboard with limiting campfires in our precious wild spaces. We always practice LNT and you’re correct that campfires can lead to devastating mistakes. We backpack in a lot of beautiful places where campfires aren’t permitted, and we have no problem with that. On the other hand, it’s nice to have small and safe campfires in the backcountry sometimes, so not allowing them does tend to be a downside for some campers. Thanks for your input.

You should see what campfires have done to the Yosemite territory. The "Rim Fire" erased hundreds of square miles of forest that will never return! This year 2017, The Range of Light (Sierra) especially Yosemite Valley has been inundated with smoke, all from man made fires. The Cirque of the Towers is too precious to squander. We had a little weather (snow).. no surprise. No bugs or crowds.

Wonderful trip.

The trailhead had a sign that said "habituated" bear in area. Need to to canister or we did the hanging Ursack. We didn’t see any bears.

Heard Coyotes saw deer and elk

According to the map the trail ends at Temple Lake. Is that part of the trail still passable?

I’m headed up Thursday from Estes Park for 4 days. Meeting my buddy now working Yellowstone. Any chance my mountain dog can go? Any last minute advice? Think the skeeters will be gone? rick

A lot more snow than was anticipated, but an absolutely spectacular hike! Fell in love with the Cirque.
