One addition: If a person has this knowledge, the most important (and difficult) thing to do is share it with people of all ages who are new to the outdoors. It is an uncomfortable topic that causes a great deal of anxiety to many people who are new to areas away from toilets and a great opportunity to be gently honest with them.
