He loves it and overall it’s good quality. The only problem is that the sternum strap is gone – it either slipped off the “pipe” on the shoulder strap, or perhaps the buckle holding it there broke at some point – and finding a replacement is impossible. Have had multiple calls with REI both national and local, all give me slightly different versions of “we can’t help you”. Local person actually mentioned that she had seen this problem across multiple REI brand packs, so its an issue. I generally like REI gear, but not being able to replace parts like this is annoying.
